Helping Youth Discover the Outdoors
Making Outdoor Survival and Safety Possible

Making Outdoor Survival and Safety Possible

At Outdoor Life Leadership, we help young men grow into strong leaders through hands-on outdoor experiences. Our outdoor programs have a mix of leadership training, survival skills, and disaster preparedness so they’re ready to handle whatever life throws their way. By learning in the outdoors, they gain confidence, teamwork, and practical skills that open doors to new money making opportunities.

Our programs go beyond adventure, they build leaders. With our leadership program, young men learn to lead with courage, giving, and imagination. Through camping, fire-starting, shelter building, and more, we give them the tools to succeed today and in the future.

Youth Outdoor Programs

In today’s fast world, our young men are disconnected from nature, struggling with confidence and lack the skills to succeed. At Outdoor Life Leadership, we tackle these challenges directly by combining the excitement of outdoors with hands-one life lessons.

Our outdoor leadership programs and experiences for young men teach them the important survival skills they need, build respect for nature, and equip young men with the tools to become leaders in their communities or anywhere. Through our disaster preparedness training, young men gain real information to handle real-world challenges with confidence and skill.

Camping, youth leadership and outdoor activities give our young men hands-on training in leadership and money making chances. Our youth leadership and outdoor activity programs prepare them to step into leadership roles not just in their communities, but in their outdoor careers. Created to be available and empowering, our programs help young men overcome problems and build self-supporting futures.

Empowering Young Men

Outdoor Life Leadership is dedicated to empowering young men in underserved communities through hands-on outdoor youth leadership and outdoor activities and experiences. Our programs, Bear Archers and Bear Captains, teach survival skills, disaster readiness, outdoor public safety, leadership, and teamwork, while opening ways to careers outdoors. We help young men ages 7–24 build confidence, giving, and the skills they need to succeed now and in the future.

Our Approach
Building Youth Leadership Through Outdoor Activities

At Outdoor Life Leadership, we believe in a simple idea: nature teaches leadership. When young people spend time outside, they discover their strengths, make friends, and face challenges in a safe, helpful setting. Our programs helps them grow skills like thinking on their feet, solving problems, and working well with others.

Here’s what our youth leadership and outdoor activities programs teach:

  • Survival Skills: Young men learn how to build shelters, start fires, and find their way outdoors. These skills help young men stay safe and also build confidence and leadership.

  • Disaster Preparedness: Practice what to do in real emergencies, like giving first aid or handling storms. Young men gain the tools to protect themself and help others.

  • Teamwork and Leadership: True leaders know how to work with others. Through fun challenges, young men practice communicating, building trust, and leading with care.

  • Career Skills: We also teach skills that can help young men earn money and build a career. From farming and renewable energy to money management, these lessons open doors to jobs in Public Safety, Emergency Services, Game Wardens, Forest/Park Rangers and more.

Hands-on Learning in the Great Outdoors

Outdoor Life Leadership? It’s not just some weekend in the woods. It’s where young men get their hands dirty, actually learn stuff that matters, and yeah, shocker: discover they can step up as leaders. Oh, and nature? Big part of the gig.

Bear Archers

Ages 7–17, we’re talking mud, grit, and a lot of wide-eyed “wait, I can actually do this moments. Survival basics, disasters, what do you do when stuff really hits the fan? We throw ‘em in. First aid? Check. Firefighting, sort of. Search and rescue? Yeah. It’s less “boy scout badge” and more “if the end of the world apocalypse comes, I have a clue."

Bear Captains

Now, for the older crew (18–24), it’s a chance to level up. They get to mentor the younger ones, pass down what you’ve learned, and maybe learn a thing or two yourself along the way. Turns out, they don’t have to know everything, sometimes they just need to show up and go for it.

Outdoor Life Leadership Camps Honestly? These camps are the real MVPs. Overnight camping, fishing, burning your food over an open fire (it happens), laughing with people you just met, but will probably remember for life. They even end up forgetting their phone is even a thing. And while their figuring out how to cook eggs without a pan, they realize, they kinda started to lead. Pretty wild, right?

A Pathway to Leadership and Making a Money Outdoors

Outdoor Life Leadership isn’t just summer camp with extra bug spray. We’re about getting young men off the sidelines and into some real-deal leadership and life skills.

Not just “how to pitch a tent,” but the kind of stuff that actually helps young men land a job or stand out in a crowd.

Honestly, leading these days isn’t about shouting orders anyway. Nobody’s handing out gold stars for memorizing a rulebook. That’s why our programs throw young men straight into the deep end, whether their rigging up a solar panel, navigating disaster relief, or just figuring out how to keep cool when stuff gets hard. Skills young men pick up with us? Yep, they translate, straight from the trail to the boardroom or the firehouse.

We’re not just about talking the talk. We walk it with actual paths to work in fields like emergency response, public safety, game wardens, park rangers and keeping the planet, less wrecked. These aren’t pie-in-the-sky dreams; they’re jobs that need what our young men learn with us. At the end of the day, we just want to make sure these young men have the tools to run the show in whatever path they take next.
